In Buffalo, we don’t fear winter... We revel in it. We wear the label “snow belt” like a badge of honor, thumbing our frosted noses at the wintry misconceptions and stereotypes that pervade the national consciousness. During the weekend of February 10th through 12th, Downtown Buffalo will again be transformed into a festive winter celebration continuing an exciting annual tradition. It’s the stuff inter dreams, for adults and kids alike, are made of including friends and family enjoying hot food and refreshments while strolling along downtown streets; winter carnival classics including ice skating, broom ball, snowshoeing, and carriage rides. Be a part of this Historic Celebration. Supporting the Buffalo Winterfest means supporting the rebirth of downtown Buffalo and the entire surrounding region. This event has an enormous impact on our local and national image by placing Buffalo among the ranks of major cities that host similar events, as well as highlighting the hardy, fun-loving, and friendly nature of Buffalonians that helped the city earn its nickname, the City of Good Neighbors. In short, it brings our extended local community together and help put Buffalo’s winter in the national spotlight for the right reasons—emphasizing that Buffalo is a fun place to live and to visit. New Location. The festival will feature outdoor events in Niagara Square, Fountain Plaza and along two blocks of Delaware Avenue, as well as indoor events inside the historic Statler City building. This is a chance to see the rebirth of one of Buffalo’s Iconic buildings. The Grand Ballroom will transform into an entertainment and music area and the Terrace Room will feature some of Buffalo’s best winter cuisine. The festival is also partnering with the Buffalo Auto Show which takes place the same weekend. Festival Organizers and a Great Cause. The 3rd annual Buffalo Winterfest is being organized by veteran festival organizer Drew Cerza and his company Just Wing It Productions, the creators and organizers of the nationally acclaimed National Buffalo Wing Festival as well as the National Hamburger Festival in Ohio. Last year’s festival drew over 30,000 people. The festival will benefit the Police Athletic League. |
